Fold towels in half, then roll like sleeping bags.
Towels fit this way (or another) and gives the rack a spa look.

It depends on the length of the rod. Mine are 24 "long and a towel folded in half length-wise with room for a towel folded in half. Napkins folded into three parts adapted to take a long dry season
Fold long way in three parts and covers the open end of the rack. This works for the door with a stick or Lope.

Basically, I totally agree with Christopher, but for some stupid reason I worry about the condition, so I want to make two points.
Fold into thirds lengthwise, but be sure that the opposite side of the door of the folded edge so that you can not see the edges.
